{"id":1060,"date":"2021-10-08T19:51:38","date_gmt":"2021-10-09T01:51:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.messersmithlaw.com\/?p=1060"},"modified":"2021-10-08T19:51:38","modified_gmt":"2021-10-09T01:51:38","slug":"214b-visa-rejection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.messersmithlaw.com\/?p=1060","title":{"rendered":"214(b) Visa Rejection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If a consular officer finds you are not eligible to receive a visa under U.S. law, your visa application will be denied, and you will be provided with a reason for the denial.\u00a0 There are many reasons a visa applicant could be found ineligible for a visa.\u00a0 A list of these ineligibilities can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/messersmithlaw.com\/ina-212\/\">here<\/a>. \u00a0Some ineligibilities are temporary and pass after a certain number of years and others are permanent.\u00a0 If you are inadmissible to the US because of an ineligibility, we can help you with a waiver or help you overcome the ineligibility determination.\u00a0\u00a0<b><\/b>If you are refused a visa under\u00a0section 214(b), it means that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The consular officer did not believe that you qualify for the nonimmigrant visa category you applied for; and\/or<\/li>\n<li>The consular officer did not believe that you overcame the presumption of immigrant intent by sufficiently demonstrating that you have strong ties to your home country that will compel you to leave the United States at the end of your temporary stay.
